A building is made from materials. It is shaped by its use. It is its site with the setting and light that brings the building to life.

Entering into the building at first floor level your gaze sets upon a set of large sliding doors that lead out to a glazed balcony taking advantage of the views afforded by the location. This main vaulted space is heart of the house and is formed by an exposed steel frame that informs the style of the house.

A minimal palette of materials, was used to define and distinguish the detail of this build. It’s form denotes it’s residential setting and domestic nature and has been cleverly adapted to maximise the spaces for the family.

The brief:

  • Create a family home that connects with it’s site and setting
  • Integrate sustainable technologies and ideas without losing its domestic feel
  • Assist with seeing the design through from conception to completion.

The project is due to be completed in November 2015.
