The overall form has developed as a response to the careful analysis of the village, site and its surroundings. All of these have influenced the design form with an aim to create a modern interpretation of the surrounding buildings while integrating the clients requirements and wishes.

The materials reflect the vernacular and design with the choice of cedar boarding emulates the leafy character of the village and blends against the backdrop of the trees. The material will weather and change with time into a more natural state.

The brief:

  • Create a family home that sits within it’s village vernacular
  • Integrate sustainable technologies and ideas without losing its domestic feel
  • Assist with seeing the design through from conception to completion.

The project is due to be completed in November 2015.
